Specialized Tactics & Rescue - S.T.A.R (3 Day)

About this training

This is a 24-hour tactical training course for School Resource Officers and school-based law enforcement personnel focused on active shooter response in school environments. The three-day program covers advanced firearms training for close-quarters situations, solo and team building clearing techniques, and specialized bus intervention tactics. The course combines classroom instruction with live-fire exercises and scenario-based training to prepare officers to rapidly engage threats while maintaining safety in populated school settings.

• Method of instruction: classroom lecture; live fire drills with handguns and carbines (outdoor range); discussion; scenario-based skills training, evaluation and demonstration; videos/PowerPoint.
• Assessment: this course is not graded. The training provider ensures each student has a thorough comprehension of all learning objectives via assessment during training and an After Action Report (AAR) upon completion of each training day.
• Training facilities: outdoor shooting range (up to 50 yards), classroom, school bus.

How it works

1. Send an inquiry. Tell us your team size, preferred dates, and whether you'd train at the ISI Training Center or your site.
2. We confirm the details. Dates, location, and tuition, tailored to your unit.
3. Register. Tuition and registration forms are due 21 days before the class.

ISI issues certificates for all classes and reports training hours to TCOLE for Texas classes.
